Children’s Classes
Children are the most precious treasure a community can possess. They are a trust of the community and in them are the promise and guarantee of the future. Yet, for this promise to be realized, children need to receive spiritual nourishment. The moral and spiritual education of children is of great importance in order to respond to the aspirations of children, to develop their capacities and spiritual susceptibilities.
Components of the Classes
Children's classes are organized for children ages 5 to 10 years of age. The materials being used emphasize the acquisition of spiritual qualities – such as truthfulness, generosity, purity of heart, and kindness to name but a few. The goal of these classes – which combine study of materials, interactive games and activities and engagement with the arts – is for our children to reach a stage in which they can understand and act upon the imperative to tend to their own spiritual and intellectual development and contribute to the well-being of society.
Mathematics
Attention is given to helping participants acquire a solid foundation in mathematical knowledge and to practice related skills. Particular attention is given to number sense, fractions, and algebra, ensuring that those in primary school are well prepared to enter middle school.
Academic Excellence
The program aims to help children to be well prepared to enter middle school. Participants study materials designed to develop intellectual capacity and strengthen academic performance. Providing help with homework and assignments and after-school tutoring are natural extensions of the classes.
Community Involvement
The program is designed around the idea of helping children to develop their talents and abilities by contributing to the wellbeing and progress of their community.
